Discuss a decision
Bring the decision, not the pitch.
A useful first note says what must be decided, what evidence would change it, and whose perspective would help.
Signals & Subtractions is built around decisions people have to make and live with. If an episode surfaced one of yours, send the decision in plain language.
What to include
- What your organization is deciding.
- Why the choice is consequential now.
- What outcome or evidence would cause you to proceed, change course, or stop.
- Whose perspective from the show would be useful, if you have someone in mind.
Do not send confidential, regulated, client, employee, or proprietary material in the first note.
Who the conversation is with
You can ask for Sam, name a cohost who appeared in the episode, or leave the routing open. A first note starts a conversation only. It does not create an engagement or constitute professional advice.
